The Pembroke Vineyard is located at the entrance to the Coal River Valley in
southern Tasmania on approximately one hectare.
The vineyard predominantly grows Pinot Noir along with a very small range of classic white varieties including
Chardonnay, Riesling and Sauvignon Blanc. The vineyard is a certified plot and has produced clonal material for
distribution to the fledgling Tasmanian wine industry in its establishment phase. The vineyard was established in 1980.
Pembroke Vineyard is one of the oldest in the Coal River Valley. Pembroke Wines
specialises in Pinot Noir and produces Gold Medal quality wine. It is owned by the McKay and Hawker families and is
situated on land bought by the McKay's in 1848.
2012 Season Picking
2012 Pembroke Vintage Picking this year will reduced as the majority of the grapes will be picked early to go into Sparkling. We will be picking only about 4 bins.
Currently the day of the Pembroke Harvest is unknown but is predicted to be about mid- April.
All welcome. Start is 9am at the vineyard and the Harvest BBQ lunch will be about 1.00PM, as usual.
